Do You Remember The First Time You Looked At "Apostate" Material?
by minimus ini was always fascinated by it.
as a kid, i used to go to the local library and secretly read books by so called apostates.
later, i would sneak into christian book stores and quickly buy a book or two.

I didn't read anything related to anti JW until after I left. I went to some online forum around 1999 and there were topics about the changes to the generation teaching. I thought it was this site but I think this one started in 2001. Sites like this just helped me confirm my doubts. -

Walking a thin line - Resigning Elder
by Sanchy inwarning of a long boring post ahead.
i feel like i need to vent my story out, as i feel quite helpless at the moment.. i'm 31 year old, married, father of toddler with another one on the way, due later this month.
i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.

There are a few of us in the south florida area. Maybe you can branch out your support group so you don't feel so lonely. Making new friends takes time but helps in a situation like this. -

It's Too Late to Return to Jehovah!
by naazira inyes friends it is too late for most of you to return to jehovah's org.
based on the new garlic bread parable in this month's broadcast with the illustration using loaves of bread.
it is obvious that the doors of the arc has been closed shut by jehovah's hand for some of us.. according to the new parable that can be found on jw tv.

Never underestimate the organization making this religion even more embarrassing. I feel sorry for the children of uber parents that make them watch this stuff on family night worship. -

Evolution Hole #1 - Origin of Life
by shadow indisclaimer: my graduate degree is in business, not science so i'm writing as a layman in this field.
yes, i know that someone is going to say that evolution does not encompass this topic and should be sectioned off under abiogenesis.
i'm not trying to argue semantics here but it seems like a case of avoiding an uncomfortable subject.

I believe God, 3 billion years ago, took a major shit on Earth and all life evolved from it. My belief is just as valid as creationist's beliefs. -

Revealing Watchtower tax returns
by Nambo inplease excuse if this has already been posted:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysyqish-l_e.
under the freedom of information act, this guy has tax returns showing where your money goes, where it is invested, companies like northrop gruman, monsanto, cigarette and porn peddlers, and we thought we where giving money to god!
i am quite sickened to discover i was giving money to the watchtower to invest in arms manufacturers..

Then say it can't do anything about where this money is invested.I have no intentions of explaining accounting principles or USA tax laws, I will leave that to an expert. However, what is of more interest to me about this topic and the comments made is:
Where do you think the WT should invest their money?
And when I speak of investment I mean a vehicle that will generate a financial return on the principle.

So the watchtower accepts this money from another person and then can distribute that money within the same financial year to whoever the watchtower wants for the last 15years and doesn't have control of the investments? That doesn't make sense.
Jeff is speaking as an experienced expert and an actual practitioner. Here is a topic where someone with actual credentials yet he is being dismissed.
If the WT receives a distribution from a trust fund they can use that distribution as they see fit. The control of investment within the trust fund is controlled by the trustee and the WT are the beneficiaries. What part of that doesn't make sense?

I upgraded to windows 10 on my laptop with no problem. On my computer gaming system it locked up. Apparently windows 10 wasn't compatible with my graphic card, which was a newer card. My main work computer I like windows 7.1 as windows media center isn't part of windows 10. -

My Bethel Exoerience part 14 "The Courtship"
by new boy inmy strange bethel courtship started with me trying to meet mike stillman's sister, even though he worked in the ink room next to my elevator, we were not good friends, he was just a little to "country" for me........and on the self-righteous side too.
they say "there is nothing more dangerous in combat then a new guy with a map!
".........well, there was nothing more dangerous at bethel then a self-righteous new boy.. .

These experiences are so common place in JW land. I wish my father would understand that. He isn't a JW but feels the religion is harmless and one of the closest to Christ teachings.
I remember a "sister" from the hall in her 50's in my parents kitchen talking about the death of her natural sister. She went on how her sister deserved death because she rejected kingdom truth.
So sick and twisted these experiences are.
Maybe the JW were right about the prophecy that during the time of the end people will not have natural affection.... JW sure prove that point
